We love the pineapple and brown sugar baked together, it’s the best part of the cake! With this delicious dessert there’s no cake batter to make , no pans to grease and no oven to turn on. Pineapple Upside Down Cake Dessert gives you all the flavor we love with less time and effort. We’re going to make this delicious no bake treat together so let’s gather the ingredients.
Pineapple Upside Down Cake Dessert Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 1/8 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple or canned tidbits (juice pack) drained
- 1 cup of crumbled pound cake from a thawed Sara Lee Frozen Pound Cake (use crumbled shortbread cookies if you don’t want to buy a cake)
- whipped cream for garnish
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
- 4 maraschino cherries as a garnish
We start this delicious no bake treat by placing the butter in a heavy duty skillet under medium heat. Add the brown sugar, honey and cinnamon to the pan. Cook and stir the ingredients until they come to a boil.
After the ingredients come to a boil , reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for about 2 minutes. Add the drained pineapple to the pan. Cook and stir the ingredients for another 2 or 3 minutes more until the ingredients are heated through.
Scoop ice cream into 4 dessert glasses. Top with thawed ,crumbled pound cake and warm pineapple mixture. Garnish with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake Dessert
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 1/8 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple or juice packed pineapple tidbits, drained
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
- 1 loaf frozen pound cake (like Sara Lee)
- whipped cream
- maraschino cherries
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a small heavy duty saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, honey and cinnamon to the pan. Stir the ingredients together. Bring the mixture to a boil, after it boils reduce the heat. Simmer the ingredients, uncovered for 2 minutes. Add the pineapple tidbits to the pan. Cook and stir the ingredients for 2 minutes or until heated through. Remove the pan from the heat. Scoop ice cream into dessert dishes. Top with crumbled cake, warm pineapple mixture, whipped cream and a cherry. Serve immediately.
