I don’t think there’s any better combination when your making a recipe than “easy and delicious!” These oven baked potatoes have five common everyday ingredients ,including the potatoes , that come together to make one heck of side dish. We’re using baking potatoes (Russet potatoes ) for the recipe. They can be peeled or unpeeled, your choice. The recipe uses cheddar cheese, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t switch cheeses in the recipe to change it up a bit from time to time.
Cheese’s I Can Use As A Substitute For Cheddar Cheese In The Recipe:
I love having options when I’m making a recipe. If for some reason you have a family member that’s not crazy about cheddar cheese, try using one of these cheeses as a substitute for the cheddar cheese (using the same amount called for in the recipe) to give the potatoes a slightly different flavor every time you make them.
Try using one of these cheeses in place of the Cheddar:
- American Cheese
- Mozzarella
- Swiss
- Pepper Jack
- Longhorn
- Colby
Let’s gather the Ingredients for this cheesy potato side dish and make it together.

This recipe makes one envelope of dry onion soup mix. There are no preservatives in this homemade recipe, and nothing you can’t pronounce. You can use it the same way you would use one envelope of store bought dry onion soup mix from the store.
