Italian Dipping oil
Italian Dipping Oil – a garlic infused olive oil flavoured with red pepper flakes, ground pepper, salt, balsamic vinegar and Parmesan Cheese. This was devoured at my house!
I made this as an appetizer last night for family and friends. I knew this was a hit when one of my guests nine year old son came in the kitchen with a big smile on his face saying how much he loved it!
You’ve got to love an appetizer this easy and light on the pocket book with such fantastic results. Italian Dipping Oil, you’re going to LOVE it. Enjoy!
Italian Dipping Oil
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 4 Teaspoons minced jarred garlic or 4 cloves garlic sliced thin
- Balsamic vinegar
- Pinch red pepper flakes
- Pinch salt
- Ground pepper
- Freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
- Hot crusty bread
Make the garlic oil
- Using a small saucepan gently heat the olive oil over low heat. Don't let it come to a boil, just let it come up to very warm. Place the garlic in the pan, keep the pan on low heat until you can smell the aroma of the garlic. about 3 - 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat. Place a pan lid or aluminium foil over the pan and let it sit for one hour.
- Strain the oil to remove the garlic if you like (I left the minced garlic in the oil). Place the room temperature garlic infused oil in a shallow dish. Swirl a Drizzle of balsamic vinegar into the oil, sprinkle with a pinch of red pepper flakes, salt, pepper and top with a light grating of Parmesan Cheese. Serve with hot crusted bread.
