There are so many textures and flavors together in this recipe that all you can do when you taste it is say….HMMMMMMM!!
Kuchen is the German name for “cake”. “Kuchen has a thick crust and a sweet custard base ” according to Wikipedia. But evidently that’s just one form of Kuchen. I’m sooooooo very happy I found this recipe on Taste Of Home! The crust taste like crunchy shortbread cookies, the custard is so very smooth and light! There’s also a gooey brown sugar and cinnamon layer along with the peaches. This is one fantastic recipe, and we’re going to make it.
We start the recipe by greasing a 9 inch springform pan. Don’t try to make this in any other pan, it needs the springform pan. Next, we are mixing up the crust.
Cinnamon Peach Kuchen
the kuchen is beautiful and exactly the type of cake I can’t resist.
This looks amazing! It’s always great to have yummy unique peach desserts. Between the crust, peaches, brown sugar, and custard, this sounds crazy good!
Yum, I love peaches! That looks divine.
Of course I pinned this lovely Peachy Kuchen!!!
Hugs!
Do you think you could use half and half in place of the heavy cream??
Giz it was awesome.
Laura, I was so happy to find this, unique is spot on!
Sonia, I hope you try it!
Evelyn, thank you!
Michelle, I tried to look that up online for you. I found a link that says in most cases it would be alright. But I just don’t know if it would work in this case. Here’s the link….http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_you_use_half_and_half_instead_of_heavy_cream_in_recipe
Hi,
Is this best served warm or cold,
Shannon, warm or cold, it doesn’t matter. It’s delicious either way.
I made this tonight for a last-minute get together. The selling point was needing cold/semi-frozen butter! While it took quite a bit longer to cook, it came out perfect! The only change I made was to add 1/2 t vanilla to the custard (may up it to 1t next time). Thank you, as always, for a wonderful recipe!
