Apple Walnut Gruyere Quesadilla
Of all the seasons Fall is my absolute favorite. I love everything about it, from brisk sunny days to the glorious beauty of leaves turning brilliant colors of gold, red and yellow, it’s my season.
Fall brings apples and finding delicious ways to enjoy them. Gala Apples are my apple of choice. They’re a good eating apple as well as baking apple and are always in the fridge.
Apple Walnut Gruyere Quesadillas combine two of my favorite Fall ingredients, apples and walnuts with Gruyere Cheese. What a delicious treat this is!
The crispness of the quesadilla along with the apples ,buttery, soft, melting Gruyere cheese , walnuts and a slight bit of brown sugar is amazing!
Flavor options:
I’m a firm believer than anything you can make with apples you can make with pears. Switch the apples for pears, use pecans or the nut of your choice instead of walnuts. You can also switch the Gruyere Cheese out to another soft cheese that pairs well with fruit.

This is a great idea. I never thought of combining fruit, nuts and cheese in a quesadilla. We make quesadillas a lot, because they are so quick and taste good. I have them for breakfast; our daughter makes them for dinner. I’ve only made them with cheese alone or with bananas alone – maybe tomorrow I will experiment with the triple combination.
It’s so good Stan! I’d like to try one with fruit, nuts and cream cheese. You’d have to whip the cream cheese though and add a little milk and sugar to it but i think it would be good. let me know what you try with fruit,I’d love to hear the combinations you come up with!
