Sugar Cookie Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix ( or the brand of your choice)
1/4 cup cold butter
4 oz cold cream cheese
1 – 21 ounce can prepared apple pie filling
Directions:
Place cookie mix in large bowl. Cut in butter and cream cheese, using pastry blender or fork, until mixture is crumbly. (Do not overmix.) Reserve 1 cup cookie mixture for topping. Press crumbles into the bottom of a greased 13×9 inch baking pan.
Place the apple pie filling in the bowl of a food processor and process just a couple of seconds until the apples are in small pieces. Spread the apples on top of the cookie dough base, top with the remaining 1 cup of crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 – 30 minutes or until the edges of the cookie dough are golden brown. Remove from the oven to cool slightly. Scoop into dessert bowls. Serve warm with ice cream.
Hi: really love the idea of your recipe (haven’t made it yet) but I have blueberry pie filling in the house and want to know if you’ve used another besides the lids red filler? I normally find these questions irritating but I get it! I’m in a pickle I need to make a dessert I happen to have all these ingredients but the wrong flavor filler. Hence the question. I can’t go to the store need to get a dessert made so I truly appreciate it if you’ve tried a different pie filler and have an opinion. Thank you so much for sharing and thank you for your time

Sandy there should be no problem at all with you using a different flavor pie filling. It’s still pie filling and switching the flavor to a different flavor won’t make a difference. Let me know how it goes for you!
Hello. First of all, I. LOVE all your recipes! I’m wondering if there is another sugar cookie (or ?) that could be used for this recipe. I try NOT to use store mixes. Thank you.
Hi Mrs M. Thank you for coming to visit! The only other way would be to make a sugar cookie recipe and use that. But I’ve never tried it that way, if you do please come back and tell me how it went!
