Cheddar Cheese Onion Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 6 medium baking potatoes
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 envelope (1 ounce) dry onion soup mix
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 5 green onions, sliced thin

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place the cubed potatoes on a greased baking sheet. Dot the cubed potatoes with butter and sprinkle the dry onion soup over the cubed potatoes evenly.
  • Cover the potatoes with a sheet of foil and bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and stir the potatoes. Place the foil back over the potatoes and continue baking for 30 more minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Remove the foil from the pan and sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the potatoes evenly. Garnish with the sliced green onions, serve immediately.

Notes

One Store bought envelope of Dry Onion Soup Mix Ingredients:
1/4 cup dried onion flakes
 
2 Tablespoons low sodium beef bouillon granules
 
1/4 Teaspoon onion powder
 
1/4 Teaspoon parsley flakes
 
1/8 Teaspoon celery seed
 
1/8 Teaspoon paprika
 
1/8 Teaspoon ground pepper
Place all of the above ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir the ingredients together to combine them. Use as a homemade substitute for one envelope of store bought dry onion soup mix.
