Easy Browned Butter Frosting Pecan Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 canister deluxe refrigerated cinnamon rolls (5 in a canister)
  • 1/3 cup toasted pecans

Browned Butter Frosting

  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 3/4 Teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 - 3 Tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • Bake the cinnamon rolls according to package directions, but not using the icing that comes with the rolls after they're baked. Remove from the oven, while still very warm, drizzle with browned butter frosting and top with toasted pecans.
    To brown the butter:
Place the butter into a medium saucepan. Set the pan on top of a burner under low heat. Cook and stir until the butter has melted, continue to stir and heat the butter until it turns a golden brown. This only takes a few minutes but it's very important to not walk away from the pan while the butter is cooking. It can quickly go from a golden brown to burnt  in an instant. Remove from the heat immediately. Add the powdered sugar and whisk. Add the milk and whisk until desired drizzling consistency.
    To toast pecans :
Place in a small skillet under low heat, while stirring, heat the pecans until it's oils have released and you can smell the aroma of the pecans. Remove from the heat, set aside.
